VAIBHAB FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME ,2023

Govt of India has launched VAIBHAB FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME to stimulate the cooperation and knowledge sharing between Indian diaspora scientists and Academic Institutions of India. This initiative has been taken by ministry of science and Technology to improve the research system and collaborative research through mobility by the expert researcher from overseas institutions to India.

Objectives:

Relating Global Indian Scientists:

The Vaibhav fellowship programme targets to make a bridge between the scientists of Indian origin with the NRI (non-resident Indian), OCI (overseas citizen of India) and PIO (person of Indian origin).

 

Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration:

The total number of 75 fellows will get the opportunity to work on 18 knowledgeable verticals including quantum technology, health, pharma, electronics, agriculture energy, computer sciences, and material sciences. But to get benefit from Vaibhav Fellowship Programme there are some eligibility criteria.

Who can apply in Vaibhav Fellowship Programme?

ELIGIBILITY (For scientists):

*The candidate must be NRI (non- resident Indian), OCI (overseas citizen of India), PIO (Person of Indian origin) now living abroad.

*The candidate must have Ph.D./ M.D/M. S degree from recognized university.

*Applicant must have some track record in the field of research and must be a researcher of research organization and make some developmental works on science and technology in the top 500 QS World University Ranking.

*Plans for working in Indian research organization for 1 month to 2 months in a year for a period of three years.

*Applicants can send their proposal once in a year.

ELIGIBILITY (For institution):

University has to be ranked in top 200 in NIRF and must have NAAC “A” grade.

MODE OF APPLICATION:

The notification of Vaibhav fellowship will be notified every year. For that you have to follow the website dst.gov.in.

Applications will be invited every year on 31st July and 31st January.

The research applications along with the objectives of research will be given on online mode.

The applicant must have to identify the Indian research institution for research purpose.

The applications will be shortlisted by the expert committee of DST.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

Some documents have to send in pdf format via online mode. These are:

*Bio data of applicant.

*Qualification certificate.

*Age proof certificate.

*NOC certificate from his institute.

*Endorsement certificate from host institute.

NATURE AND DURATION OF SUPPORT:

The fellowship will be given only in India in any recognized institutions and it will be given for 1 to 2 months in every year for a period of three years. The fellow will receive some grant as given below:

*Accommodation in 3- or 4-star hotel.

*fellowships@USD 5000 (in Indian currency)

*Travel in a business class from the place of the applicant to the place of institution.

*Contingency Rs 1,00,000 per year.

The host institute will get 10lakh every year for giving facility and laboratory assistance to the fellow.

 

 

 

TERMINATION OF FELLOWSHIP:

*A candidate can terminate his fellowship at any time and in this case the candidate will not get any expenditure after the termination date.DST will assist him in this termination process.

*DST can terminate the fellowship if any progress cannot visualize or the grant has not been used properly.

Vaibhav fellowship programme has been taken to promote science, research and innovation. Prime minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of Vaibhav fellowship programme for the growth of science to transform the socio-economical structure. It is a platform which makes a link between all over scientific institutions of the world for the progress of scientific research.
