Though the wedding ceremony was held with much pomp and grandeur with some of the biggest names from the world of the film industry and Indian politics invited as the guests to the party, one thing that made the party look a little bit on the blander side was the surprising absence of the elder cousin sister of Parineeti Chopra and her favourite ‘Jiju’, Priyanka Chopra and her American husband and singer Nick Jonas. Though speculations are on the rise as to, what could be the real reason behind the two high profile and most sought-after guests keeping themselves away from the wedding ceremony, the ‘Desi Girl’ of the Hindi as well as the English film industry decided to let her congratulatory message be delivered to her ‘Tisha’, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha through her social media account of Instagram.

The ‘Desi Girl’ Gives It a Miss

Priyanka Chopra’s younger cousin sister, Parineeti Chopra had finally sat under the wedding canopy in a traditional North Indian Punjabi wedding style in the Lake Pichola region of the Udaipur district of the state of Rajasthan in the presence of their closest friends and members of the family alongside some big names from the face of Indian politics such as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann and the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. However, what has given rise to speculations among the fans of the actress is the absence of the bride’s dearest elder cousin sister Priyanka Chopra as well as her husband Nick Jonas. Priyanka Chopra also commented on an emotional message that was posted by Parineeti Chopra on her social media account of Instagram about her first-ever meeting with Raghav Chadha. “From the very first chat at the breakfast table, our hearts knew. Been waiting for this day for a long time .. So blessed to finally be Mr and Mrs! Couldn’t have lived without each other .. Our forever begins now,” wrote the newly wedded bride to, which Priyanka Chopra replied ‘My blessings always,’ alongside some love, fire, crying and heart-eyed emoticons.

With Priyanka Chopra posting a picture of her spending the day off at the farmhouse of an uncle of Nick Jonas with her newborn daughter Malti Jonas, speculations started to form as to, what could be the real reason behind her absence from the marriage reception. However, Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra clarified that “She was busy with her work,” related to her shooting. Talking about the marriage of Parineeti Chopra, Madhu Copra said, “They refused all gifts, only blessings. The wedding was very good. Parineeti is very beautiful and looked all the more beautiful as a bride.” However, one cannot stop speculating as to, what could be the real reason behind Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s absence from the marriage ceremony, when earlier this year they both had attended the engagement ceremony of Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra.

Words are doing the rounds that it is possibly the situation that is full of upheavals at a personal level that has possibly prevented the ‘Desi Quantico Girl’ from being able to attend the marriage party. It seems that the divorce of Joe Jonas, the elder brother of Nick Jonas is what is preventing the Hollywood couple from attending the marriage party. It has been speculated that Priyanka Chopra, being quite a dedicated ‘bahu’ (daughter-in-law) of her family would not like to leave the side of her in-laws in this disorderly situation in the household.

Meanwhile, on the marriage front, Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra are finally a couple now after having officially dated each other for four years. With the Mehndi, Haldi and Sangeet ceremony done, the couple is expected to fly off to the national capital region (NCR) of New Delhi to start their life afresh there.
