The hall was filled with a confused mumbling among the pressmen and the journalists, some of, whom have even jumped to the conclusion that it could have been yet another Karan Joharish type of controversy, this time regarding his favourite ‘student of the year Alia Bhatt. However, within moments of creating the confusion, he cleared the confusion by saying that Alia Bhatt had become the daughter-in-law of the Kapoor family through her real-life marriage with Ranbir Kapoor and she had to once again go for a marriage sequence with Ranveer Singh for the movie ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Khaani’. This playful remark by the director left everybody on the set going for hearty laughter.

Recently, on the 14^th of April in this year, the two celebrity paramours, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, tied their nuptial knot with each other after having finished shooting for their movie ‘Brahmastra Part One’. Karan Johar (KJo) recalled that “Alia aur Ranbir ki shaadi hui thi aur chaar din baad we were shooting our sequence with Ranveer and Alia. So in that week, Alia Bhatt got married twice, once in real life and once in reel life. And the mehndi that Alia Bhatt’s character has in the scene is the same mehndi that she had in her wedding celebrations with Ranbir Kapoor. We just darkened it. And we shot that song ‘Kudmayi’ in Jaisalmer and Vaibhavi Merchant picturised it beautifully.” He further went to the extent of mentioning, “However, when it came to the length of the song, everyone thought that it should be somewhere lower than 2:50 minutes. It shouldn’t cross that number. Then we had to constrict it into a box along with the rolling credits. It truly broke my heart as a filmmaker that I was not able to present the song in its full glory. But we are launching this song today for everyone to cherish.” These witty twists of the two marriages of Alia Bhatt, one in her real life and one inside the movie, have made the fans quite amazed and have hearty laughter.

While ‘Rocky Randhawa’ is a flamboyant and carefree spoiled brat, who hails from a rich Punjabi family, his grandmother, played by Jaya Bachchan, is a strict traditionalist, who gives prominence to backward and old-fashioned ideas over modern thoughts and ideas. Alia Bhatt comes in as ‘Rani Chatterjee’, who comes from a traditional Bengali family and works as a journalist. The plotline narrates how both of them fell in love with each other after a meeting but face a lot of hurdles from the side of their families. Finally, they decided to strike an understanding with each other by staying in each other’s family for three months before getting married.
