The Indian Statistical Institute has recently announced an official notification for the positions of Statistical trainees for an on-the-job training program in Applied Statistics and Econometrics conducted by the Sampling and Official Statistics Unit (SOSU) and Applied Statistics Unit (ASU) and Driver A.

 

• How can one apply, and what are the registration dates for the vacancies?

2. How many vacancies have been announced, and for which posts?

A total of 6 vacancies are announced for the Statistical Trainees post and 1 vacancy for the Driver A (UR) post.

 

3. What is the application fee?

As per the official notification, the candidates applying for the post of Statistical trainees are exempted from the application fees, while candidates applying for the driver post have to pay a non-refundable amount of Rs. 500 through electronic transfer (NEFT/IMPS) to Account Name: Indian Statistical Institute, Account Number: 0071050000118 (Current Account), Bank Name: Punjab National Bank, and IFSC Code: PUNB0397700. The transaction number should be mentioned in the column of the application format, and a payment receipt should be enclosed with the application form.

 

4. What are the eligibility criteria for the announced posts?

Age

The candidates applying for the post of Statistical Trainee should not exceed the age of 30 years (as of June 10, 2023), and for the post of Driver A, the applicants must not exceed the age of 35 years (as of June 10, 2023). Age relaxation as per government directives

Qualifications and Experience

 

• For the Statistical Trainees post, a candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Statistics or Economics with experience in Computer Programming and Statistical Packages.
• For the Driver A post, a candidate must have completed the school final or equivalent with knowledge and experience of driving all types of vehicles and must possess a driving license for both light and heavy vehicles.

 

What is the selection procedure?

• Candidates applying for the post of Statistical Trainees will be shortlisted based on an online test-cum interview on July 20, 2023, and all will be informed through the mail before July 20, 2023.
• The selection for the Driver A post will be made only through a personal interview.

 

6. What is the salary scale for the different announced posts?

The salary varies from post to post. The candidates, after selection for different posts, will be paid monthly emoluments as follows:

• For the Statistical Trainee post, Rs. 25,000/-
• For Driver A post-pay level 3 (Rs. 21,700–RRs. 69,100/-),
