WHAT INGREDIENTS YOU NEED FOR CRAB MEAT MASALA
500 grams of processed crab meat.
2 tablespoons of refined oil.
Salt (As per requirement)
2 finely chopped onions.
6 grams of green chili.
2 tablespoons of chopped ginger.
2 tablespoons of grated garlic.
1 tablespoon of turmeric powder.
2 tablespoons of red chili powder.
2 tablespoons of cumin powder.
2 Tablespoons of coriander powder.
1 cup of tomato puree.
1 tablespoon of garam masala.
Lemon (optional)
Chopped coriander for garnish (As per your need)
How to Prepare the Crab Meat:
- Clean the crab meat properly to ensure that all the impurities are removed.
- Take a pan, add oil, and when the oil gets hot, add green chilies, chopped ginger, and garlic. Sauté it well. Then add the onions and sauté them until the onions change color to a light golden brown.
- Now add the processed crab meat and sauté for 5 minutes on medium heat.
- When the crab changes color to deeper, start adding the powders like turmeric, coriander, red chili, cumin, garam masala powder, and salt to taste. To make sure the crab is thoroughly coated in the spices, stir them in.
- When the crab is coated with spices, it adds tomato puree and can also add lemon juice for a tangy flavor. Sauté it well into the crab mixture. Since crab cooks by drawing moisture from the meat, add half a cup of water.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on a light flame for 5–6 minutes, or until the meat begins to leak moisture.
- Take off the lid, check the amount of spice, and make any necessary adjustments.
- When the crab meat masala is cooked, serve it with steamed rice and roti, and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
The amount of spice can be changed to suit your tastes.
You can use vinegar in place of lemon juice for a tangy flavor.
Make sure to wash the crab meat thoroughly to remove any impurities.
