The dream of billions of Hindus has become the reality on the auspicious day of 22 Nd of January this year. some people say that it is a 500 years old dream for the devotees and passing on to the next generation by their ancestors. Yes, you are right it is the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh which has been a festival for the Indians for last few days. But to know why it is so significant we have to go through the history.

In 1528 A.D. Babar came to Ayodhya and stayed for a week. He destroyed the ancient temple and built a mosque on this site renamed Babri Masjid. The materials of the old structure were largely used to build the mosque and many of the pillars were unmoved and used for the constructions. That is where it all started from. Mughals came and ruled then  British did the same but on 1947 India got their independence. After 2 years in 1949 the campaign of getting back the birthplace of lord ram had started and under mysterious circumstances idols of ram appeared on the premises. the belief of Hindus became stronger that the Babri Masjid has been made after destroying the ram mandir. This forced Jawaharlal Nehru govt to lock the mosque in the same year. Later on, 1986 Rajiv Gandhi reopened the gates to stop the campaign started by some opposition political leaders the leaders hijacked the issue and made the campaign more powerful. And then finally Dec 6,1992 a mob gathered in ayodhya and demolished the tombs of babri in Ayodhya.

In between all this on 1977-78 archaeological survey of India had excavated the ram Janmabhoomi-Babri masjid site and found many sculptures as a prove that ram Mandir was there.Both the parties Hindus and Muslims visited the court several times and finally on November 9,2019 supreme court pronounced its verdict. The five-judge bench of the supreme court ordered the govt of India to create a trust to build a ram Mandir temple and form a board of trustees within three months and a land of 5 acres allotted to Sunni Central WAQF Board for building a mosque. This helps to get a happy ending for both the communities and the ram Mandir started building. The day of 22nd January 2024 will be remembered as the ram temple has been inaugurated and many celebrities are invited with the Prime Minister Modi as chief  guest.so now according to the report majority of the Muslims (74%) are happy with the construction of ram mandir and of course the Hindus favors that. This is a perfect example of our nation being the biggest democracy in the world.
