It is no new news to the fans of the ‘Spy Kids Universe’ lovers that the creator and producer of the series Robert Rodriguez has always been captivating them with thrillers since the day the concept of the ‘Spy Kids Universe’ was conceived in the year 2001. Released almost 23 to 24 years ago, the first movie focused on two young siblings, who found out that their parents were spies in their retirement. Unfurling the truth about their parents led them to take up the responsibility of being spies themselves in regards to their parents to protect them. Little did Robert Rodriguez know at that time that the series would become so popular that he would be coming up with three more versions of the series and even comic books and video games. This time, he has been back once again with another revival of his ‘spy kids’ Universe series, all credit going to the over-the-top platform (OTT platform), Netflix. It has been ten years since he last came up with his last action movie from this series, ‘Spy Kids: All the Time in the World’ in the year 2011 which garnered immense popularity among the younger section of society. This time he is back with another action movie in this genre, titled ‘Spy Kids: Armageddon’ which has commanded massive excitement from the fans over another dose of kids’ action and spy-related thriller upon the release of its trailer.

The Kid’s Chronicle of the New Summit

With the storyline of most of the films in the English movie industry filled with thrillers that deal with sequels in legacies, revivals and rebooted versions of previous stories, it seems that the creator and the producer of the series, Robert Rodriguez alongside his son Racer Matrix decided not to let out the golden opportunity from their hands to explore themselves once again after 10 long years in one of the most renowned spy sagas for kids of the new era. However, the creator and the producer have confirmed in an interview with an online news portal that the series of thriller is not merely a revival of the earlier series that was produced in 2011 but an entirely rebooted version of all of the previous series that is packed with a new taste of adventure in the world of spies that is centring around a family, whose members are ‘secret agents’. The family has to team up with each other to save the world from getting a computer virus unleashed to destroy the world from the clutches of a vicious computer game developer.

The over-the-table platform (OTT platform) of Netflix has decided to release the trailer for the film on the 7th of September in this year. The trailer shows the Tango-Torrez family, with Gina Rodriguez playing the role of the mother of the family, Nora and Zachary Levi playing the role of Terrence, the husband of Nora. The story revolves around how the children of the couple, Patty and Tony accidentally lead to the setting free of a computer virus while playing a botched-up video game that has led to the letting loose of an apocalypse in the format of a video game inside the real world of human beings. Upon the discovery of the mistake that they have caused, it is now time for the two kids to learn the tactics of a spy from their parents and then race against the limited time that they have in their hands in order to keep the world protected from the vicious clutches of a creator of computer games that are played by the actor Billy Magnussen. The character of Billy Magnussen would specifically and intentionally create the game in a botched-up format so that as soon as anyone would attempt to play the game, things would go wrong and that would lead to the unleashing of the virus that is causing virtual havoc on the reality of the world.

Though nothing much has been revealed through the launching of the trailer, the crux of the story is somewhat that the kids would be the ones, who would become spies and rattle their little brains to foil the sinister plans of the cyber attacker. The trailer has been exceptionally well received with several fans of the spy kids’ universe applauding the way the story has been planned to be turned out.  “When the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful Game Developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, they must become spies themselves to save their parents and the world,” was the crux of the movie that was published by the over the table (OTT platform) of Netflix.

“I’ve heard from so many families telling me how much they’ve enjoyed these films throughout their lives,” said Rodriguez in a statement released by Netflix. “And now a lot of kids who enjoyed the first films as children are parents themselves and enjoy sharing them with their kids. The Spy Kids franchise was based on my growing up in a family of ten kids with an FBI special agent Uncle. It’s been very exciting for me and my kids to work on this film together as a family, for other families to enjoy,” is what the creator and the producer Robert Rodriguez had to say about the film.

What we feel after the release of the trailer is that it is set to provide us with some spicy as well as thought-provoking sequences of action and spy life thrill through the negative ramifications of the sinister use of technologies. The theme of the movie has contributed to the depth of the film, thus, rendering the movie not just an electrifying experience for the movie watchers but at the same time a total entertainer for the younger generation of the population.

The film would have a stellar cast of D.J. Cotrona alongside Fabiola Andujar. The script has been composed jointly by Robert Rodriguez and his son Racer Max. With all set to release from the 22nd of September in this year, we are waiting with bated breath and a pack of popcorn to relax on the sofa and partake in the war of the spies.
