ORIGIN OF FISH CAKE
Fish Cake is a mouth-watering dish which is made of fish fillets, mashed potatoes and a blend of spices and herbs. It is an adjustable dish that can be served as a snack, appetizer or main course. The origin of this recipe derives from ancient China and Japan where the fish is mixed with starches to preserve leftovers. INGREDIENTS USED IN FISH CAKE RECIPE
- Fish (boneless)
- Potatoes ( boiled and mashed )
- Eggs (to hold the mixture together

- Garlic (finely chopped)
- Onion (grated)

PROCEDURE TO MAKE FISH CAKE
STEP 1:
Steam the fish and the potato until it becomes soft keep it aside and let it cool.
STEP 2:
In a large bowl take the boil potatoes and mash them smoothly then add the steamed fish and mix properly with the potatoes.
STEP 3:
Now mix all the left over ingredients like egg, breadcrumbs, grated onion, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, lime juice, powder spices. Also add mayonnaise, and spring onion for rich and creamy texture, now mix all the ingredients very well. The mixture is ready keep it aside.
STEP 4:
Take proper amount of mixture of fish and give a small, round patties shape. Now dust the patties in flour, then coat it in breadcrumbs.
STEP 5:
Take a pan add little oil heat it properly, then add all the fish patties and shallow fry it until it turns golden brown and crispy.
STEP 6:
Now remove those fish cake from pan and place it in paper towel to soak the excessive oil. After that super delicious fish cake is ready to serve. Serve it in a plate with salad and sauce and enjoy hot as a starter.
