THE IDEA: It all began with a photograph which I clicked 2 years ago. Recently when I’m going through my google photos, I noticed it. That image ignited a spark within me and after 2 years I came up with the plan. It’s not a well-known tourist place so there is no mean of virtual exploration. We have to face all the challenges on the spot. It demands a lot of resilience.

Location:  It’s an unplanned bike ride of two friends from Kolkata to Jharkhand Where just 17^km away from Deoghar, there is a mystical mountain situated in the heart of a forest. Away from the crowded city and busy streets it’s waiting for the nature enthusiast and adventure freak.

The Journey Begins:  Our journey begins from the vibrant city of Kolkata. As we take highway and accelerate for almost an hour, the cityscape fades and rural landscapes emerge. We feel the wind in our hair, the rumble of the bike beneath us. We smile and scream inside the helmet out of excitement. We take total 3 breaks to let the engine cool down.

Entering Jharkhand’s Terrain:  After almost 6 hours of cruising, finally we enter Jharkhand’s terrain. Now the road goes through dense forests, offering glimpses of natural beauty. And when the day comes to its end, the sun wants to hide itself behind the mountains, we finally reached our destination. We are at the front gate of Dighariya Pahar. As the sunlight fades away slowly, we are only able to see the Silhouette Mountains.

The Adventure Day (next morning):  With full of excitement and enthusiasm, we are stepping into the lush green forests. At first, we collect two wooden stick for our safety because we are the guest in this wild diverse ecosystem. We are carrying a desperate heart who wants to go on the mountain top, unfamiliar of all the challenges it takes. Clearing the bushes, as we are moving upwards, the forest becomes more dense. The sun rays are playing hide and seek with us. After about 2 hours of trek, now we are on the rocky surface. This area of mountain is not dense but there are only rocks all around which makes the expedition a bit difficult.

From the Peak:  The final ascend to the summit is a bit challenging yet gratifying part of the journey. Despite of all the sweating and falling we finally make it to the top. Now the view from here is very majestic. The wide-angle view covers the surrounding valleys and the mist covered peaks which created a frame which is not explainable in words. Now we can see the whole territory while no one can watch us. We sit there for an hour without talking to each other, while the nature tries to communicate with us by the whispers of the wind, the rustling leaves and the distant bird songs. It feels like we are on the Magical Realm.

Wise Words:  Dighariya Forest Mountains stand as a testament to the untouched beauty that nature can offer. Away from the crowds, this offbeat destination invites you to slow down, breathe in the crisp mountain air and embrace the serenity that it provides. It’s a mystical place where time seems to stand still and the soul finds peace in the heart of the forests. It’s a refreshing journey which connects us to the nature and disconnects us from all the stress and hustle of daily life.
