BEST ROUTE FROM KOLKATA TO DARJEELING

  • By Train: The closest major railway stations to Darjeeling are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri (NJP), both of which are reachable by train from Kolkata. From there, you can hire a cab or take a bus to Darjeeling to continue your journey by car. Depending on the train and its schedule, this train trip takes between 10 and 12 hours.
  • By Road: Darjeeling is roughly 600–700 kilometers away from Kolkata, and traveling there by car or bus typically takes 14–16 hours. Usually, the route follows National Highway 12, which passes through Bardhaman, Durgapur, Asansol, and Siliguri before arriving at Darjeeling.
