Chili garlic mushroom is one meal that can be made in just 15 minutes and can be served as an appetizer, starter, or full main course. Its easy recipe comes together so effortlessly quickly that it makes the ideal snack for a ‘’surprise guest visit’’. It’s really a delicious dish that has a rich, garlicky aroma. Chili garlic mushroom can be eaten as a main dish with noodles or fried rice or as a starter with a dip.
It can also go well with just anything, like plain rice or inside sandwich bread. It was made with a few ingredients, and it turned out super delicious. As chili garlic mushrooms are very simple to prepare, we love the dry mushroom recipes as they taste great since they are cooked in their own moisture without the addition of water. Generally speaking, nothing is a gift for your taste buds. I’ve used whole button mushrooms in this recipe, but you can use any kind, and you can also chop them to your preference.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR CHILI GARLIC MUSHROOM
For the preparation of chili garlic mushroom, the ingredients that are required are listed below:
- Finely chopped, an onion
- 2 Tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 cup of mushrooms
- Finely chopped garlic cloves (6-7)
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sweet chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon salt (as per taste)
- 1 tablespoon finely crushed black pepper
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1/4 coriander leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
HOW TO MAKE CHILI GARLIC PASTE FOR CHILI GARLIC MUSHROOM
- Soak the garlic in water for 4–5 hours.
- Now in the mixer, put red chili, soak garlic, salt (as per taste), sugar (to balance everything), and you can also add chili powder for color; I used about ¼ tsp. and mix them all together to make a fine paste. For the short-cut method, you can skip mixing and can make a paste using chili powder, chopped garlic, salt and rest of the ingredients with water as required.
HOW TO PREPARE CHILLI GARLIC MUSHROOM
- Heat the pan with sesame oil. Then add half a tablespoon of cumin and sauté for 30 seconds. Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn lightly golden brown. While the onions fry, you can wash, slice, or chop the mushrooms.
- When the onions turn lightly golden brown, add the prepared chili garlic paste.
- Sauté very well on a low to medium flame for 2–3 minutes. Verify that the raw garlic scent has totally vanished.
- Then add vinegar, soy sauce, and red chili sauce. Mix well, and cook on a low flame.
- Add chopped or sliced mushrooms.
- Coat the mushrooms in garlic sauce by well mixing. Fry for around 3 minutes, or until the mushrooms start to smell nice.
- Cover the pan and cook until the mushrooms are done to your liking. Do not overcook, as the texture of the mushrooms will change and turn soggy.
- Finally, add chopped coriander leaves and serve the chili garlic mushrooms hot.
