#All Eyes are On Raesi : The city of Jammu is currently on high alert following a series of three terror attacks that have occurred within a span of three days. An increase in violence is being seen in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Three separate attacks have occurred in the last 3 days, raising concerns over the law and order situation in the area. Jammu and Kashmir was shaken by the serial terrorist attacks first in Reasi, then in Kathua and now in Doda. 

 

First attack in Reasi district

A terrorist attack occurred in Jammu and Kashmir on June 9, 2024, while we were anticipating the India-Pakistan match just before our Prime Minister’s third oath ceremony. At 6pm, terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims in Riyasi district. The bus was returning from Shiv khori cave shrine to Katra, a town known for the Vaishno Devi temple. It was travelling on a link road of NH144, A winding through thick forest and mountain terrain.

According to 30 years old Santosh who is currently undergoing treatment in Reasi. He said two marked terrorists in military style combat fatigue stood in the middle of the road and fired indiscriminately. He said that he could hear intermittent gunshot when the bus was rolling down the mountainside. And the officers said that the driver was hit by Gunfire and lost control of the vehicle, noting that Bullet shells were found at the scene. 9 people and one 3 year old child died in the attack and 41 substance injuries.

Local residents and authorities participated in the rescue operation, while a security sweep involving police, army and CRPF personnel was initiated to catch the attackers.

 

Second attack in Saida Sukhal village

On 11 June 2024, terrorists opened fire in saida sukhal village along the international border in Kathua district. Jammu and Kashmir police share chilling details of moments before the Kathua terror attack, terrorists who opened fire Reportedly went door to door asking for water. Police added that the Alert villagers had shut the doors on their faces. Both the terrorists then reportedly panicked and fired randomly in the air.

They also opened fire at the villager who was passing by at that moment.The psychological militants were first found in Saida Sukhal town. Both terrorists were gunned down in an encounter that began overnight. Top officers said that one terrorist died while trying to throw a grenade at the cops. A Paramilitary soldier was also killed in action during the encounter. A second encounter is underway in Doda where and army based came under attack.

 

Third attack in Jammu’s Doda

 In Jammu and Kashmir Doda district, on thursday marking the third terror incident in the UT. Terrorists opened fire at joint parts of police and rashtriya rifles at an Indian army base in the chattar gala area late at night. Five soldiers and a special police officer (spo) were injured during the attack. These items were recovered from the militants after the operations.

According to the Kathua police station, the recovered items included 3 magazines containing 30 rounds, 1 magazine having 24 rounds, 75 rounds in a separate polythene, 3 live grenades, Rupees 1 lakh currency, Pakistan made chocolate, dry chana and stale chapatis. Pakistan made medicine and pain killer injections, 1syringe, 2 packs of A4 batteries, One handset having antenna wrapped in tape and 2 wires hanging from this handset, 1M4 carbine and 1AK47.

Jammu has been on high alert as attacks are taking place in areas free of terrorism. The area, located 100km northwest of Jammu has been cordoned off.

 

Who is behind these attacks?

Sources suspect involvement of former Pakistani army SSG commando-turned lashkar-e- taiba(LET) operative Illiyas Fauji and two other terrorists from Pakistan who have been on the run since the Fatal attack on an IAF guard in Poonch Area on May 4.
Pakistani Group TRF Says they attacked Reasi.Sundays ambush suggest a spread of terrorists violence to new areas, as Reasi had remained unaffected by the recent spate of attacks in neighboring Rajouri and poonch districts. Reasi, Rajouri and poonch are known for mountains terrain, dense forests.The Pir Panjal route, known for its arduous terrain, is frequently used by terrorists to infiltrate Jammu from the LOC in Poonch and Rajouri prior to moving towards Kashmir.

The last psychological militant assault in Reasi was on 13 May 2022 when fear based oppressors utilized “tacky bombs” on the transport conveying travelers from Katra to Jammu, bringing about 4 passing and injuries to 13 others.

He is known for his strong views on Hinduism he has now taken to social media to protest against the ‘All eyes on rafah’ trend. Instead, he shared a similar template with the title ‘All eyes on POK’ referring to Pakistan occupied Kashmir and people are strongly supporting his post and sharing his post through their social media.
