Infinix Hot 30 5G : Full Phone Specifications

by | Aug 10, 2023 | Mobile Phone | 0 comments

This phone is based on the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Infinix, which is busy launching a series of mid-range smartphones. Infinix is known for affordable smartphones. To expand its smartphone lineup in India, Infinix today launched its Infinix Hot 30 5G phone in India. This phone is its entry-level 5G phone with MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor. The Infinix Hot 30 5G is one of its latest offerings in the budget segment. Infinix earlier launched the Infinix Note 30  with a 5,000mAh battery, AI camera features and more at Rs 15,000. With the new Hot 30 series, the company saved some budget and increased the battery capacity. Infinix has recently created a nice niche in the budget smartphone market. The Hot 30 5G has a long-lasting battery, a large screen and a decent camera, but it falls short in a few key areas. The back looks cheap and detracts from the overall design of the phone. In addition, the performance is still unsatisfactory, so it is not ideal for gamers. However, the Infinix Hot 30 5G is one of its best 5G smartphones under Rs 13,000 and probably one of the most affordable smartphones you can buy.

Design of Infinix Hot 30 5G

The Infinix Hot 30 5G offers a large 6.78-inch Full HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 580 nits peak brightness for a smooth and vibrant viewing experience. The sleek design includes a side fingerprint sensor for secure authentication. At first glance, the square design and camera module of the Infinix Hot 30 5G might look similar to the Infinix Note 30 that I reviewed earlier. However, the Aurora Blue colour version obtained from our review gives a fresh and attractive look and glitter effect. The device has a polycarbonate structure, with the back and body made of plastic. The sides don’t help grip as much as the back. But sliding into a case inside the box can give traction. The back panel of the Infinix Hot 30 5G is made of plastic, which unfortunately seems quite fragile. It is like a thin sheet of plastic that affects the structure and design of the phone. Thanks to the  IP53 rating, the device offers dust and water resistance, which improves its durability. The MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, a 7nm chipset, offers excellent performance and efficiency. The smartphone’s camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary lens for high-quality images, a depth sensor for bokeh effects, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with dual-LED flash for brighter low-light selfies. The camera lens is glittery and shiny and reflects light. On the back, there are two camera lenses placed on huge black surfaces that add to the design of the phone. The right side varies the volume rocker and power button, which also doubles as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the left side, there is a triple slot that can accommodate two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. At the bottom of the device is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a microphone, a USB Type-C port and a speaker. At the top is another speaker grill to complete the stereo setup. The fingerprint scanner of the Infinix Hot 30 5G works well, ensuring a quick unlocking process, which is a good feature for the price.

Display of Infinix Hot 30

As mentioned earlier, the Infinix Hot 30 5G has an impressively large 6.78-inch FHD display with a hole for the selfie camera. The screen has a Full-HD resolution and its frequencies are 60 Hz, 90 Hz and 120 Hz. The brightness of the screen is also remarkable, providing comfort to the eyes in dark or bright daylight with a maximum brightness of up to 580 nits. However, if the brightness is low, leakage occurs at the edges of the screen. Although the phone does not support 4K resolution, this is not a concern for a budget phone as the HD display performs commendably. It is better to manually set the refresh rate to 120 Hz. Although the phone does not support 4K resolution, this is not a concern for a budget phone as the HD display performs commendably. Even during gameplay, the graphics were clear and vibrant. Apart from a small screen leak, the display of the Infinix Hot 30 5G is quite satisfactory. It works well and I enjoy watching movies, making video calls and using the phone for my daily tasks. However, the automatic refresh rate reduces the refresh rate in some applications such as YouTube. However, it is better to manually set the refresh rate to 120 Hz. Although the phone does not support 4K resolution, the Infinix Hot 30 5G display is quite satisfactory.

Performance  and Software of Infinix Hot 305G

The smartphone is powered by the new 7nm octa-core Dimensity 6020 SoC. Somehow it performs slightly better than the previous generation Hot 20 5G chipset, the Dimensity 810. It has up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Daytime running of the phone was smooth and we never experienced any lag or stuttering. Benchmarks also showed good results. The phone performed great in everyday tasks like calling, browsing, video calling and streaming. Call quality is good and the phone connects perfectly to its 5G SIM card when it is in range of a 5G network. Streaming was also satisfactory, producing sharp and clear images. It scored more than 4,00,000 in AnTuTu but no heat stroke was detected. Geekbench 6 also showed good performance with a single-core score of 695  and a multi-core score of 2015.

In terms of software, the Infinix Hot 30 5G runs on the company’s latest XPS 13, which is based on Android 13. As expected for a cheap phone from a Chinese brand, there was bloatware. However, I liked that my device was not full of these unwanted apps. The pre-installed apps like Spotify and Messenger are quite useful. Now let’s talk about software. Having used several other phones from different brands, I can say that XOS skins are not as heavy as regular skins from other brands. Based on  Android 13, XOS 13 offers useful features like Peek Proof, Kids Mode, Translate Hello, Split Screen and more. It also has a call dialer that allows you to record calls without announcing them. For me, the highlight of the Infinix Hot 30 5G  was the speakers. Two speakers provide an almost three-dimensional sound experience for better streaming and music reproduction. Audio quality is often overlooked in this price range, so it was refreshing to see Infinix paying attention to this aspect. Another advantage is the integrated NFC technology, which enables wireless payments. Some bloatware is still there as usual, but some programs can be uninstalled and the rest disabled. Otherwise, all Android 13 features are available. Unfortunately, Infinix has not confirmed the software support details for the device. I wish the company would offer software support for such an affordable phone for at least 1-2 years. Additional features like spy protection, game mode and kids mode add fun and personality to the device, which we appreciate.

The camera of the Phone Infinix Hot 30 5G

The Infinix Hot 30 5G features a 50MP dual camera and an 8MP front camera. In terms of imaging capabilities, the device is generally good, but there is room for improvement.  Infinix has a dual camera system on the back. The giant camera pupil on top of the camera island houses a 50-megapixel main lens and an AI sensor. I don’t understand why the secondary lens is there because it doesn’t perform a certain function. It just seems to exist as a placeholder. The 50-megapixel Samsung lens brings out all the magic and produces pleasing images in good lighting conditions. The device can provide a softer image when there are too many light sources in the image. This should be fixed. Otherwise, the camera shutter is faster than the Hot 30i. Device bokeh mode requires focus. Some issues with edge detection result in blurry bokeh effects. Under indoor lighting conditions, the device continues to deliver satisfactory images, but you may need to manually adjust the brightness to reduce light noise. It has different modes such as Super Night, Portrait, Beauty, Film, and AI Cam (default shooting mode). The photos are good, but the video is not stable at all. However, even with good lighting, it is of high quality. This device can record 1440p video at 30 frames per second and 1080p video at 60 frames per second. The night camera mode is also great. Super Night Mode processes images effectively and provides a higher quality image compared to images taken with normal cameras. However, shooting at night can feel a little soft. Considering the price, the Infinix Hot 30 5G’s night camera mode is commendable. All in all, a decent basic camera for the price. I wish Infinix put a little more effort into the selfie camera.

The battery power of Infinix Hot 30 5G

The highlight of the Infinix Hot 30 5G is the 6000 mAh battery. This feature is unique and provides amazing longevity. In my daily use, the battery lasted a day and a half, and almost a full day during intensive streaming and gaming sessions. One of the highlights of this phone is its large battery. The device has a huge 6000mAh battery that can easily provide up to 2 days of battery life depending on usage. Heavy users who spend all day browsing social media, watching YouTube videos and Netflix movies, and playing games can expect battery life to last all day. It takes a long time to charge because it is a fast charge of 18W. Due to the large battery capacity here, a 33W fast charging solution would be great. Despite its impressive capacity, the device comes with an 18-watt Type-C fast charger. However, the download speed is nothing special. It takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes to fully charge the phone from zero to 100%.

Price of the Phone

The Infinix Hot 30 5G is the company’s latest offering in the budget segment. It has a 6000mAh battery and dual rear cameras and is priced under Rs 15,000. However, the Infinix Hot 30 5G is one of the best 5G smartphones under Rs 13,000 and probably one of the most affordable smartphones you can buy. The former has a 60Hz waterdrop display and costs $13,000.  Infinix Hot 30 5G prices in India start at ₹ 12,499. Available on Flipkart in India from 08/09/2023 at lowest price. The Infinix Hot 30 5G is available in three variants: 4GB 128GB and 8GB 128GB. These variants are priced at Rs 11,499 and Rs 12,499 respectively. The Hot 30 5G will be released on July 18 and will be available through Flipkart.
